The mill was built in 1956 to serve the grain milling needs of the residents of Prigorec. It was once owned by Andrija Friščić, and today, it is maintained by his son, Stjepan Friščić. In 2004, the mill was restored with the assistance of the Tourist Board of the City of Ivanec. The mill is still operational and offers traditional grain milling services powered by a water mill wheel. It has also become a tourist attraction for numerous visitors and hikers on their way to Ivančica. At Friščić’s mill, all well-meaning travellers and passersby can refresh themselves with drinking water from a nearby spring. In addition to the loud clatter of the water mill wheel, visitors can enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings and the cascades—small waterfalls of the Bistrica River that flow steeply down toward Ivanec.
This mill is connected to a wooden mill that was located 50 meters further down toward Ivanec. The original owner of that mill was the Pofuk family from Prigorec. In 1939, Andrija Friščić leased the wooden mill and, after World War II, purchased it from the Pofuk family. The old wooden mill remained in use until 1956 after which, due to its obsolescence, the location was changed and the current mill was built on the existing site.
