"Ivonjski Fašink", the traditional carnival, revives the old tradition where the so-called "gomile" (men disguised as mares) toured the Ivanec villages. In addition, the "mačkari" (masked people) also went door to door, with a special emphasis on the “newlywed mačkari”. Each house rewarded them with donuts and drinks.

Today, the "Ivonjski Fašink" gathers many participants and visitors from different places. Every February "Ivonjski Fašink" turns the town into a carnival oasis of fun and creativity. And lots and lots of laughs.
