This estate once belonged to the composer Nikola Faller’s father, born on April 22, 1862. Nikola Faller was a famous Croatian conductor and composer with a rich musical heritage of over 250 performed works, 1900 conducting performances and over 40 of his own compositions.

The Faller family moved to Zagreb in 1877, and the property was sold to Gustav Taussig. Later in 1925, it became the Pahinsko State Training Center, where they took care of youngsters who strayed from the right path.

This institution began its work in 1925 and took in 35 boys from rural areas between the ages of 14 and 16. The former buildings of the Lepoglava penitentiary have become a new home for these young people.

Although the name has changed over the years, the "Ivanec Educational Center" has always emphasized the education and training of children. They started with skills such as carpentry and tailoring, and over the years they have developed programs adapted to modern needs, including new trades such as machine assembly and parquetry.

Through the adaptation and development of the program over the years, the Ivanec Educational Center continues to play a key role in the upbringing and education of young people.
