This mill, located in the deep valley of the River Bednja, was the last one on the Bistrica stream, and was owned by Ivan and Bara Stanko. It stopped working in 1960 after the regulation of the Bednja river. It was built entirely of wood, and for a while the family lived inside its premises.
The watermill once served as a favorite summer bathing spot for the residents of Ivanec. What set this mill apart from others in Ivanec was that it was powered by an undershot waterwheel, while many other mills used overshot grooves for water supply. The different types of mills in that era included undershot, overshot waterwheel mills, watermills with scoop-shaped paddles, single or joined waterwheel mills, etc.
