A special witness to the mining legacy, located on the premises of the company Jedinstvo Ltd. near the town of Ivanec, represents an important part of the industrial architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries. This mining separator was built at the beginning of the 20th century with the purpose of sorting coal according to size and separating impurities.
The construction technique of joining steel profiles using the riveting technique was used for its construction. This technique was also used during the construction of the Eiffel Tower in 1889. This separator is therefore not only a valuable example of the mining industry but also a witness to the technological progress and architectural engineering of its time.
Its function was to separate raw materials, in this case coal, based on their size, which was crucial for improving quality and efficiency in the mining industry. Today, this mining separator represents a significant cultural heritage that testifies to the importance of mining and industrial development in this area.
