This beautiful replica of traditional construction and the tourist pearl of Ivanec is located next to the old branch of the Bednja river, in the immediate vicinity of the church, where people wanted to revive the days of hard work and efforts of some former generations. Every detail in its decorated interior has its own story. Hundreds of hours of voluntary work and effort were invested in the construction of the water mill, and the biggest support for its construction project was given by the Town of Ivanec and the Tourist Board. Meetings of the local committee and the Margareta citizens' association are held here, as well as various additional activities. The watermill is also beneficial for young schoolchildren who organize farewell parties here after finishing primary school. It took a lot of effort for the locals of Margečan to build a watermill on a muddy meadow, next to the old Bednja branch, which was once full of waste, and turn Margečan into one of the most beautiful small villages in Varaždin County.
This watermill is an authentic example of traditional construction. The proximity of the church and the river Bednja gives it a special charming atmosphere, creating a picturesque backdrop that is as if copied from a picture book of children's stories.
