Welcome to the lovely Bedenska hiža, an ethno-house built in a traditional style with the aim of displaying the traditional architectural heritage. How was this house built? Wanting to restore the spirit of tradition and the past, hardworking members of the Local Committee and the Association for Culture and Sports dismantled several old houses with their own hands and preserved the oak boards. The house was plastered from the inside, making sure that the old method of plastering was used.
The interior of the house shows how our ancestors lived, and the space is dominated by the bread oven where home-made bread was once baked. Pottery exhibits are also on display there, as Bedenec was known as the center of pottery during the 19th and 20th centuries. In this area, numerous generations were taught the art of pottery, and various clay vessels for water, milk, tins for storing food, butter churns and even clay toys for the youngest were made. The furniture for the cottage was made in a completely authentic style.
There are antique chests, a bed, a bread oven, stools, and a bench. Given the reputation that Bedenec has as the center of pottery, here in the kitchen we can view a variety of pottery. Special attention was paid to the cellar where wine barrels and accessories are located, and it is essential that at least one barrel be filled with wine.
